ORiS is building laser-based wireless power for space missions. We seek a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support LOONA development, from CAD design to manufacturing and testing, working with cross-disciplinary teams.

You will contribute to the full development cycle, including assembly, testing and field trials, in a hands-on, collaborative environment in Turin. The role requires an MSc and up to 2 years of relevant experience, with strong CAD skills.

Competenze

• MSc in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics or related field.
• Hands-on engineering approach with prototyping and testing.
• Willingness to work across design, assembly and testing.

Mansioni

• Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer in design and development of mechanical systems for space and defence programs.
• Evolve LOONA from prototype to product, improving architecture, robustness, and manufacturability.
• Design structures, mechanisms, optical mounts, enclosures, interfaces, and assemblies for inter-satellite WPT mission.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Perform preliminary structural calculations, tolerance analyses, material selection, and sizing.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to produce components and resolve issues.
• Participate in prototype assembly, mechanical integration, testing, and field trials.
• Support functional, vibration, thermal, and environmental verification activities.
• Collaborate with Optical, Electronics, Pointing, Thermal, Manufacturing and Systems teams.
