Job summary

RINA in Genova, Italy, is seeking a Junior Hull Plan Approval Engineer (Categorie Protette 68/99) to join the Mediterranean and Africa Marine division. The role involves reviewing drawings for fire protection, lifesaving equipment, and compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and class rules, supporting approvals for newbuilds and conversions.

You will assist in site visits, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with authorities, while operating under Italian Law 68/99 in a protected-category capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Engineering or nearing completion.
• Registered as a protected category candidate under Italian Law 68/99.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and technical documentation related to fire protection systems and safety arrangements.
• Verify compliance with Classification Society Rules, SOLAS, MARPOL and IMO requirements.
• Provide basic technical support to clients during vessel design and construction on safety and lifesaving equipment.
• Identify minor non-conformities in safety plans and arrangements.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and engineering drawings.
