Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Trieste seeks a Digital Horizons Italian Teacher to design and deliver middle advanced (A2-B1-B2 as needed) Italian language classes and IT vocational language for a group of Digital Horizons students, in person.

Under the Economic Wellbeing Manager’s supervision and with IRC Italy Integration Counselor and ENAIP FVG staff, the teacher will conduct classroom activities in Trieste, ensuring no student is left behind.

Qualifications

Proven experience developing learning content and delivering Italian language group teaching activities.
Experience working with migrant population and/or youth is highly desirable.
Experience or knowledge of IT Sector is an asset.
Proven experience in multicultural work or educational environments.
Knowledge of strength-based education and participatory learning.
Understanding of fundamental educational and psychological principles related to learning and communication.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving abilities.
Empathy, patience and teamwork in a multicultural setting.
Additional knowledge of English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Ukrainian, Urdu, Pashtu, or Farsi is an asset.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and deliver Italian language lessons at A2-B1–B2 level, incorporating IT vocabulary.
Develop tailored teaching materials combining general Italian with IT contexts.
Address student questions and provide clarification on language and IT content.
Help build students' confidence and learning skills for effective Italian in professional settings.
Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching strategies for diverse linguistic needs.
Promote intercultural communication and bridge cultural differences.
Manage classroom dynamics and maintain a supportive learning environment.
Encourage collaborative learning through group exercises for language practice with IT content.
Maintain attendance, progress records, and learning outcomes.
Collaborate with ENAIP FVG staff and IRC Integration Counselor to meet course objectives.
Provide updates to IRC staff on classroom progress and challenges.
Deliver 40 hours of Italian classes with attendance sign-offs.
