ABB E-mobility in San Giovanni Valdarno is seeking a hands-on IT Systems Engineer to own the site’s IT presence, spanning endpoints, infrastructure, networking, automation and executive support.

You will provide Tier 2/3 end-user support for Windows, macOS, and Linux; manage Intune and JAMF; ensure reliable video conferencing; and drive local IT projects with global teams.

Competenze

• 8+ years hands-on IT experience across endpoints, infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Proven experience supporting Windows and macOS in a corporate environment.
• Solid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune required; JAMF preferred).
• Fluent English (written and spoken), comfortable with senior leadership.
• EU work authorization and on-site availability in San Giovanni Valdarno.

ABB E-Mobility is building a standalone IT organization to support manufacturing, R&D, and commercial operations across Europe and the US. We are looking for a hands‑on, highly versatile IT Systems Engineer who will act as the primary IT presence at our San Giovanni Valdarno site.

This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and visibility. You will work across endpoints, infrastructure, networking, automation, and executive support, often in the same week. The role requires strong technical competence, excellent judgment, and the professionalism to operate confidently in executive-facing environments.

This role reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure.

In This Role

• Provide Tier 2/3 end‑user support across Windows, macOS, and Linux, including white‑glove support for C‑level executives
• Serve as the on‑site IT owner for the SGV location, ensuring reliable and professional IT services
• Administer endpoint management platforms (JAMF, Intune) across the full device lifecycle
• Own and support video conferencing systems, meeting rooms, and live executive events with zero tolerance for disruption
• Troubleshoot and maintain networking and infrastructure components (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, firewalls, virtualization)
• Support Microsoft 365 services and related SaaS platforms
• Develop scripts and automation to streamline IT operations and reduce manual effort
• Lead and execute local and regional IT projects, including infrastructure refreshes and greenfield builds
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate closely with global IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders during IT separation and growth initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands‑on IT experience with strong breadth across endpoints, infrastructure, and cloud services
• Proven experience supporting both Windows and macOS in a corporate environment
• Solid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless)
• Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune required; JAMF strongly preferred)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
• Practical scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)
• Experience supporting AV/VC systems and executive‑facing meetings or events
• Fluent English (written and spoken), comfortable interacting with senior leadership
• EU work authorization and availability for on‑site work in San Giovanni Valdarno

Compensation Details

The employment framework is based on the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with an indicative level between B2/B3 and a minimum gross annual salary starting from € 35.000.

The specific level and compensation package will be defined based on the outcome of the selection process (including experience, skills set, and role fit), in accordance with objective, transparent, and gender‑neutral criteria, in line with pay equity and equal opportunity principles.

The total compensation package also includes a variable bonus linked to individual and company targets.
