Position: Product Applications Engineer

Analog Devices is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Isolation Products group based in Limerick, Ireland, or Milan, Italy.

We are looking for a talented and motivated engineer to join our global applications team supporting ADI’s iCoupler isolation ICs. You will work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to the definition and development of product and system-level solutions from our innovative iCoupler portfolio. Our portfolio delivers best-in-class patented digital isolation technology for data, high-power isolated DC-to-DC converters, and communication protocols such as RS485, USB, and CAN. The applications engineer will support customer design-ins across multiple end markets including Industrial, Instrumentation, and Healthcare.

Roles & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Customer collaboration & support
    • Drive customer engagement to understand technical requirements and help solve design-in queries.
    • Advocate for the customer within development teams to ensure customer-centric decisions.
  2. Collateral development for easy adoption of products in all markets
    • Create datasheets & evaluation kits for seamless customer experience.
    • Develop reference designs & demonstrations for end market applications.
    • Prepare targeted training materials for sales, distribution partners, and customers.
    • Write articles & tech notes on product functionality, system capabilities, & features.
    • Perform product benchmarking & competitive analysis.
  3. New product definitions
    • Identify portfolio gaps and new product ideas based on customer needs.
    • Collaborate with advanced technology teams on next-generation product development.
    • Develop business cases with marketing for new products.
  4. System level understanding & measurements
    • Understand certification requirements and develop strategies.
    • Verify system capabilities on the bench, focusing on robustness.
  5. Development team engagement
    • Work closely with the Isolation development team to align on customer requirements.
The ideal candidate should have:
  • A strong technical background in mixed signal electronics.
  • Experience working with customers and a customer-centric approach.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like USB, JESD, PCIe is beneficial.
  • Experience with robustness testing such as EMI/EMC, CMTI is advantageous.
  • Proactive and motivated attitude in challenging environments.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in Applications Engineering.
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
