ABB is seeking a motivated recent graduate or final-year student in scientific disciplines to join as an Industrial Plant Simulation Intern. You will work on cutting-edge simulation and optimization projects for power generation and steam networks, using Modelica for plant modeling and ABB control systems.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge simulation and optimization projects for industrial plants, focusing on Power Generation and Steam Networks, using ABB's advanced control systems (800xA, Symphony Plus) and optimization tools (OPTIMAX).The intern will gain hands-on experience in plant modeling using Modelica, process simulation, and control system integration, working alongside experienced engineers on real-world industrial projects.Your role and responsibilitiesSupport the development and validation of dynamic plant models using Modelica language for power generation plants and steam networks. Create simulation models for boilers, turbines, heat recovery systems, and auxiliary equipment.Implement thermodynamic and fluid dynamic models for steam distribution networks. Validate models against real plant data and performance specifications.Support simulation projects using ABB 800xA simulator and Symphony Plus Harmony Training Simulator (HTS). Configure simulation environments to create platforms for testing 800xA and S+ Harmony control logic.Interface plant models with DCS simulators for operator training and control logic verification.Collaborate on optimization projects using ABB OPTIMAX technology.Develop optimization models for steam and power systems.Analyze plant performance data to identify optimization opportunities. Support implementation of Model Predictive Control (MPC) strategies.On-the-job training on ABB control systems and simulation tools.
