Job summary

TNP Italia, based in Milan, invites motivated Master’s students to join the Supply Chain & Operations team for a 6-month curricular internship on a real shop floor in Northern Italy.

You will perform time studies, map processes, and build a time and cost database while collaborating with plant managers and operators to identify improvements. This hands-on role offers exposure to client projects, potential future employment, and a supportive start-up environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Master’s in Industrial/Management Engineering for curricular internship.
• Strong analytical and data-collection skills.
• Willing to spend time on-site on production plants.
• Excellent Excel skills; Power BI knowledge a plus.
• Fluent in Italian and English; able to travel.

Responsibilities

Operations & Manufacturing Internship

Do you want to get your hands dirty on a real shop floor and see how a manufacturing company really works?

TNP Italia is looking for a motivated, curious intern to join our Supply Chain & Operations team for a 6-month curricular internship. You will work on a time and cost analysis project for a leading manufacturing company, spending most of your time on-site at the client's production plants in Northern Italy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will be part of the project team and play a key role in collecting and analyzing data directly on the production lines:

• Carrying out time studies and work sampling on manufacturing operations
• Mapping production processes and identifying value-added and non-value-added activities
• Building and maintaining the time and cost database, and checking data quality
• Supporting the calculation of standard times and product cost models
• Analyzing results to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
• Preparing analyses and presentations for project meetings and steering committees
• Working closely with plant managers, production supervisors and operators

WHO YOU ARE

• Student (Master's degree) in Industrial or Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other quantitative disciplines available for curricular intership
• Genuine interest in manufacturing, operations and lean / process improvement
• Comfortable spending time on the shop floor and interacting with people at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI or similar tools is a plus
• Familiarity with time and methods analysis, lean manufacturing or cost accounting is a plus
• Proactive, organized and able to work with a good level of autonomy
• Fluent in Italian and English
• Driving license and availability to travel to the client's sites
