Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented System Administrator / Inside Plant (ISP) Technician to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) support for telecommunications systems at for NAVSUP in Naples, Italy. This position ensures reliable and secure performance of Inside Plant infrastructure, VoIP systems, and related communications equipment to support mission-critical operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Inside Plant (ISP) operations and maintenance (O&M) for installed telephone systems, VoIP systems, and associated ancillary equipment at NCTS Naples
- Operate and maintain the telephone maintenance console and Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) to install, relocate, and troubleshoot telephone extensions, perform programming changes, adjust class of service, activate/deactivate special features, and manage VoIP network administration
- Troubleshoot and restore telephone services, systems, and equipment outages, including coordination with commercial providers, Tier III support, and the BCO help desk
- Perform all patch panel terminations for installation, relocation, or removal of telephone services or communication circuits, ensuring proper labeling and accurate recordkeeping
- Maintain telephone terminations, switch patch panels, and cable records; submit accurate monthly Planned Maintenance System (PMS) reports
- Respond to incidents, requests, and critical incidents within required timelines, maintaining an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 90% or higher
- Respond to alarms (e.g., Gateway, UPS/Generator) and system outages by investigating, isolating, and resolving faults; be available for recall after hours when required
- Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM standards and safety requirements, leaving communication spaces clean and organized
- Participate in joint tool and supply inventories; maintain accountability for all government-provided tools and equipment
- Ensure all maintenance and repairs restore systems to original equipment performance, operability, reliability, and accuracy, adhering to professional and safety standards
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of tactical or commercial telecommunications equipment
- 3-5 years of experience in VoIP network administration, systems programming, routing, and IT/teleconferencing deployments
- Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Voice certification (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with DoD cyberspace workforce requirements and best practices
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM) systems
- Proficiency in PC operations at the operator level
- Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances and government access credentials
