Lexroom is building an AI-driven accounting engine and is seeking an Accountant to help build the accounting backbone for the Finance team. You will drive the internalization of Italian accounting and own the monthly close processes as the company brings accounting in-house.

You will also implement the AI-first accounting tooling, oversee invoicing control, and maintain audit readiness across European entities in a hybrid Milan setting. Fluent English and Italian are required.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a Big Four firm or in a startup or scale-up.
• Direct experience contributing to monthly closes and reconciliations on tight deadlines.
• A sharp eye for errors and the habit of checking the numbers before anyone asks.
• You build processes rather than just follow them, and you’re curious about how software and AI can remove manual work.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Milan (hybrid model). Fluent in English and Italian.

Responsabilités

• Accounting Internalization: Bring Italian accounting in-house from January, starting with a dry run in December and working with our external accountants through the transition.
• Monthly Close: Own the tasks that get us to a monthly close within 10 business days: invoice registration, bank reconciliations, and pre-close checks.
• AI-First Accounting Tooling: Set up our accounting platform (Light), ensure data integrity, and push automation further every month.
• Invoicing Control: Ensure every deal is invoiced and every invoice is checked and recorded, increasing automatic invoicing share.
• Audit Readiness & International Entities: Keep books audit-ready and support accounting setup with local accountants across European entities.
