ABB Milano is seeking a Category Manager to oversee purchasing and logistics within the Procurement function. You will implement and maintain procedures to support the business and ensure supplier performance in a hybrid work model.

The role requires at least five years in a similar position, strong knowledge of plastics and metals, and fluent Italian and English. You will lead cost-reduction initiatives, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Competenze

• Strong knowledge of plastic and metal categories, including supplier market dynamics, sourcing strategies, and cost drivers.
• At least 5 years of experience in similar role.
• Dynamic and proactive individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
• You have strong ability to work in team, to prioritise task, to work with deadline and to manage projects effectively.

• Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Designing and implementing plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
• Supporting in implementing effective local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
• Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
• Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions.
• Recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval.
