The ideal candidate has at least 3 years' experience with Marine HVAC operations, fluency in English, and strong organizational skills. Technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential, along with EPA Certification.

Competenze

Your Purpose

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Shorebased Electrical Team, based in our Genoa, Italy office. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective operation and reliability of our HVAC systems across the fleet.

The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying the capabilities and conformity of HVAC plants and all related equipment installed on board.

You will also be involved in reviewing and monitoring all Retrofit Projects connected to HVAC systems, ensuring that any upgrades or modifications meet the required standards and operate efficiently.

Collaboration with the Engine Department will be an important aspect of the role, as you work together to guarantee the smooth operation and proper implementation of HVAC systems across various projects. In addition to this, you will supervise and participate in skilled maintenance work involving air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment.

The role also involves preparing and maintaining comprehensive technical records, correspondence, and reports to support ongoing maintenance planning and equipment performance analysis. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the continued improvement and reliability of our HVAC operations.

Your Impact
  • Participates during technical meetings with the suppliers relating to HVAC Equipment.
  • Attends to the F.A.T. (Factory Acceptance Test) for HVAC equipment and plants if needed.
  • Performs periodic visits on board Vessels during operation periods and dry‑docks.
  • Maintains records of parts and materials used; estimates and orders materials and equipment of his competence;
  • Constant updates about new HVAC technologies and evaluation for their applicability on board the Ships.
  • Analysis and approvals of new buildings design upgrades to HVAC and ventilation systems technical specifications for new buildings;
  • Plans and coordinates all the vessels maintenance activity.
  • Creation and upgrades of standard procedures for the maintenance management of spare parts requests.
  • Carries out surveys and inspections on vessels.
  • Assists with the budgets for areas of responsibilities in order to maintain equipment operation and availability.
Your Journey so far
  • Minimum of 3 years direct experience in Marine HVAC and Refrigeration system operations.
  • Experienced Chief Refrigeration Engineer, HVAC Engineer or HVAC Superintendent.
  • Expereince working onboard large Cruise ships.
  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of IMO, MARPOL and US EPA requirements for refrigerant gasses.
Your Essentials
  • It is important that you have experience working with Marine Engineers and developers along with performing market research and new technologies.
  • Essential: Fluency in English.
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of additional European Languages (Italian - French).
  • EPA Certification
  • Able to act with complete discretion with excellent interpersonal al communication skills.
  • Able to travel overseas as and when required
  • Excellent organizing and planning skills.
  • Ability to assimilate, critically examine and analyze technical information and make informed recommendations where appropriately.
  • Strong computer proficiency, Excel (including use of formulas, charts, and tables), Power Point and Word.
