Job summary

Hitachi is seeking an experienced service and commissioning engineer to lead HV protection and SCADA/RTU projects in Italy. You will work with the Service & Commissioning team to troubleshoot, ensure on-time completion, and secure customer acceptance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with site managers and third parties, producing as-built mark-ups, and delivering safe, reliable solutions. The role requires travel up to 80% to client sites, fluency in Italian and English, and experience

Qualifications

• Experience in P&C site commissioning of substations
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel 80% to client sites
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Knowledge of HV protection and SCADA/RTU testing
• Knowledge of Hitachi Microscada, RTU560 and associated protocols

Responsibilities

• Perform service and commissioning activities for HV protection and SCADA/RTU systems at client sites
• Adhere to commissioning schedule and ensure handover with client sign-off
• Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide feedback for lessons learned
• Implement design changes and produce as-built mark-ups
• Coordinate with site manager and third-party providers on specific projects
• Produce progress reports and obtain client approval
• Conduct Safety Observation Tours and mitigate hazards
• Handle snag lists independently and resolve issues
• Engage in technical discussions with customers during commissioning
• Attend FAT and SAT as required
