HSE Manager at ABB

This is a position with grade 12. The role reports to the Operations Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Each day, you will ensure the team develops capabilities and skills, supporting the business in implementing policies, practices, and programs. You will showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization. You are the key figure responsible for ensuring safety and health in our factory and for all local Sales & Service teams.

You will work closely with management to develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies, ensuring compliance with current regulations. The work model for this role is:

You will mainly be accountable for:

  • Supporting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liabilities, and requirements.
  • Ensuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, while reporting HSE incidents.
  • Reporting on HSE performance and progress concerning group objectives.
  • Driving behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned with standards and best practices.
  • Assessing risks and identifying preventive and protective measures. Drafting and updating the Risk Assessment Document (DVR).
  • Training and informing employees about risks and safety measures. Coordinating emergency and first aid activities.
  • Monitoring and verifying the effectiveness of safety measures.
  • Collaborating with other safety professionals and managing relationships with competent authorities.
Qualifications

You are highly skilled in conducting risk assessments and safety audits, with familiarity with relevant safety standards. You possess RSPP certification according to current regulations and have at least 5 years of experience in similar roles.

You have strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations, safety management software, and tools. Your analytical and problem-solving skills are excellent, and you work effectively in teams and manage projects. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a degree in engineering, safety sciences, or related fields. Fluency in Italian and English is required.
