Gemmo seeks a Head of Engineering in Milan to lead and mentor researchers, backend developers, and data scientists. You will own system design, code quality, testing discipline, and deployment practices, while shaping AI-driven product direction with the Chief AI Officer.

You will design cloud architecture (primarily Azure), manage client relationships, and establish engineering best practices. In-office 3 days/week in Milan is required.

Competenze

• 4+ years of professional software engineering with leadership exposure.
• Strong backend experience, APIs, microservices and data pipelines.
• Cloud architecture expertise, especially Azure, cost modelling and storage.

Mansioni

• Lead and coach a cross-functional team of researchers, backend developers, and data scientists.
• Own end-to-end software delivery from system design to deployment.
• Design cloud architecture for client projects (Azure) and optimize costs.
• Manage relationships with client stakeholders and translate requirements into plans.
• Liaise with AI leadership on system design, governance, and product direction.
• Enforce engineering best practices across the team and mentor developers.
