Job summary

Somfy Group in Schio, Italy, is seeking a Technical Manager for Electronics & Embedded Systems to lead the electronics department. You will drive hardware and firmware development for residential automation, manage a team of engineers, and ensure robust, cost-effective solutions.

Reporting to the Platform Manager, you\'ll oversee power electronics, motor control, RF, PCB design, EMC and mass production considerations, while coordinating with software, cloud and IoT teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years in firmware/hardware for embedded systems in industrial environments.
• 3–5 years team management experience in electronics offices.
• Fluent Italian required.
• Fluent English; French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership of electronic design activities (power electronics, motor control, RF).
• Validate design choices for cost, performance, robustness.
• Interface with product marketing and System Engineers to translate needs into solutions.
• Collaborate with software, cloud, and IoT teams.
• Ensure quality and repeatability in high-volume production.
• Guarantee product maintenance in serial life conditions.
• Drive cost optimization (BOM, design-to-cost).
• Lead and develop the team (roles, responsibilities, skill development).
• Create and drive individual and team development plans (EMC, RF, low power, safety).
• Empower teams in cross-functional collaborations and cooperation; motivate team members.
• Actively contribute to recruitment; ensure compliance with standards.
