Job summary

Saipem is seeking an Offshore & Onshore Transport Buyer to lead strategic sourcing for land transport (road, rail, heavy-lift) and maritime operations in the Oil & Gas sector. You will manage tenders, negotiate charters, and ensure compliance with international transport law, including BIMCO standards.

The role requires 5+ years of experience as a Transport Buyer/Shipping & Customs Officer, English proficiency, and strong SAP/SAP Ariba skills. Hybrid work and Milano location offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Transport Buyer/Shipping & Customs Officer in Oil & Gas / Energy sector.
• Good proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of land transport (road, rail, heavy-lift/oversized cargo) and maritime operations.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: develop and execute procurement strategies for land transport and maritime operations.
• Tender Management (RFQ): lead complex international freight tenders and ensure cost transparency.
• Contract Negotiation: negotiate freight rates, charters, Incoterms, and fuel adjustments.
• Risk & Claim Management: mitigate weather delays, port congestion, and manage claims for damaged cargo.
