Job summary

World Food Programme seeks a Legal Consultant in Rome to provide legal advice across private commercial and international law areas. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting thorough legal research, and supporting internal clients with precise, actionable guidance.

The successful candidate will have an advanced law degree, at least three years of relevant experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in law and/or first degree in law with relevant experience.
At least three years of legal experience in finance and commercial law within international context.
Fluency in English (level C) and knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset.

Responsibilities

Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on diverse matters.
Review and draft contracts and legal documents for internal clients.
Advise on governance, international law, and commercial matters with practical recommendations.
Identify and mitigate legal risks in WFP operations and partnerships.
Support committees and working groups with clear legal input.
