Job summary

Barilla is seeking a Global Innovation Platforms Principal Technologist to join the Global Discovery Center in Parma, Italy. This full-time, on-site role leads Discovery Platforms and NEXT projects, shaping strategy from opportunity framing through prototyping to scale-up, coordinating with Design Thinking, Marketing, Analytics, and external partners.

Candidates should have a Master’s in Food Science & Technology with 7+ years in RD&Q, strong project management, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Food Science & Technology with 7+ years in RD&Q.
• Experience in Bakery, Meal Solutions, or Snacking strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Shape and lead Discovery Platforms to build differentiated know-how for NEW and NEXT.
• Lead NEXT transformative projects from concept to scale-up with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee prototyping and experimental product/process development with robust tests.
• Build and govern an external innovation ecosystem with partners and suppliers.
• Protect and transfer know-how through documentation and IP considerations.
