MCM WORLDWIDE is seeking a Head of Digital Merchandising to define and execute the global digital merchandising strategy, maximizing commercial opportunities while ensuring a consistent and compelling representation of the MCM brand across markets. This is a senior role in a luxury fashion group.

Accountabilities

The Head of Digital Merchandising is responsible for defining and executing the global digital merchandising strategy, maximizing commercial opportunities while ensuring a consistent and compelling representation of the MCM brand. The role drives the development of the global e-commerce business through effective product merchandising, commercial calendar management, product visibility and inventory optimization, with a strong focus on improving conversion and sales performance. Acting as the global centre of expertise for digital merchandising, the role provides strategic direction and coordination to regional e-commerce teams, ensuring alignment between global strategy, local market needs and overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Calendar Management: Develop and manage the global e-commerce commercial calendar, aligning key product launches, commercial priorities and seasonal themes with overarching business and marketing strategies to maximize product visibility and sales opportunities.
  • Calendar Management: Define and maintain the global execution of the communication calendar in partnership with Global Merchandising, Content and Marketing teams, ensuring themes, messaging and product selections support commercial priorities and communication strategies.
  • Inventory & Product Availability: Partner with Buying, Supply Chain and Regional Merchandising teams to ensure e-commerce stock requirements are reflected in regional omnichannel orders. Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify opportunities to optimize availability, reduce excess stock and minimize out-of-stock situations.
  • Product Categorization & Website Visual Merchandising: Define and maintain global product taxonomy and visual merchandising guidelines, ensuring products are presented consistently, strategically and in a way that maximizes visibility, engagement and conversion.
  • Global E-Catalog Management: Define and manage the global digital product catalog, balancing commercial key sellers with image-driven styles. Ensure product information, imagery and descriptions are accurate, compelling and aligned with global brand standards.
  • PIM: management of the PIM platform and catalogue creation through PIM
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Global Merchandising, Marketing, Content, Design, Sales, Buying, Supply Chain and regional e-commerce teams to ensure digital merchandising strategies are aligned with broader business objectives and customer experience priorities.
  • Roadmap: Support business teams in developing features and functionalities that enhance product representation online.
  • Regional Coordination: Act as the global point of reference for regional e-commerce teams, providing guidance, best practices and coordination on activities impacting digital merchandising while ensuring appropriate localization for individual markets.
  • Competitive & Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activity, digital merchandising practices, consumer behaviour and industry trends to identify opportunities and maintain MCM's competitive position.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in Merchandising and Digital in the fashion industry.
  • Significant experience in digital merchandising, e-commerce merchandising or a related commercial function, ideally within luxury, fashion or premium retail.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce trading, digital customer journeys, conversion and online commercial performance.
  • Proven experience developing and executing global digital merchandising strategies across multiple markets and platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data, consumer behaviour and market trends into actionable merchandising strategies.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Content, Buying, Supply Chain, Sales and regional teams.
  • Strong understanding of product taxonomy, website visual merchandising, digital catalogs and product content management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align global and regional teams.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Global mindset with an understanding of local market differences, customer behaviours and the importance of localization.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
