Job summary

Spaceflux is seeking a Field & Installation Engineer to build and maintain the physical backbone of our worldwide sensor network. You will install, commission, maintain and repair sensors on site and in-region workshops, traveling to remote sites as needed.

You’ll work directly with our Sensor Development Lead, taking ownership of installations and hardware to enable scalable growth. The role suits practical engineers who enjoy solving real-world problems and learning on the job.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electro-mechanical/mechatronic engineering capability.
• Comfort with basic IT and networking (PCs, Ethernet, routers/switches, IP connectivity).
• Basic electrical competence and willingness to learn site/civil interfaces.
• Willingness to travel internationally for deployments.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission sensors worldwide – telescopes, mounts, domes and roll‑off roofs; includes site, power and connectivity interfaces.
• Get systems working on site in real-world conditions with diverse power, infrastructure and improvisation.
• Maintain, refurbish and repair deployed estate; provide second-line hardware support.
• Help set up and run an in-region workshop for plug-and-play deployments.
• Support systems programs with hands-on build, test and install work.
• Help write procedures and checklists to scale installations.
