AVL Italia S.p.A. in Italy seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to develop, implement, and verify safety concepts in safety-related projects. You will perform risk assessments, safety analyses, and collaborate with system, software, and hardware teams to verify safety functionalities while supporting R&D activities.

The role requires independent work on guided tasks. The position offers starting compensation and will be tailored by experience and responsibility.

Competenze

• Degree in a technical field such as mechatronics, physics, software or electronics.
• Driver's license.
• Certified Safety Engineer.
• HV Basis Training.
• Several years of proven experience in safety-related projects from prototype to SoP.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic development.
• In-depth knowledge of system engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards.
• AVL safety development processes including execution of safety activities in the V-Model.
• Sound knowledge of software engineering basics.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering basics.
• Very good English language skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Job Description

The Functional Safety Engineer must develop, implement, and verify safety concepts in safety-related projects. This job involves executing risk assessments and safety analyses and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The engineer will work closely with system, software, and hardware teams to verify safety functionalities and support R&D activities. The Functional Safety Engineer must carry out the guided tasks independently.

Profile Description

• Completed education in technical university or equivalent with a focus on mechatronic, physics, software, electronics, or a related field.
• Driver's License
• Certified Safety Engineer
• HV Basis Training
• Several years of proven experience in the development of safety-related projects from prototype to SoP.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic development
• In-depth knowledge of system engineering
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards
• In-depth knowledge of AVL safety development processes which includes the execution of all technical safety activities in the V-Model
• Sound knowledge of the basics of software engineering
• Sound knowledge of the basics of mechanical engineering
• English language skills (very good)
• Ability to identify and evaluate problems and present solutions to the customer
• Willingness to travel

We Offer

Indicative starting compensation: 32.000 € / year

The final offer will be determined based on experience, skills, and level of responsibility.
