Syensqo seeks a Chemist/Organic Chemist in R&I to drive innovative research and scalable processes supporting sustainable growth. You will work on fluorine chemistry and radical polymerization, leading experiments from laboratory to pilot scale with collaboration across internal and external partners.

The role requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field, strong organic chemistry knowledge, and excellent synthetic and mechanistic understanding.

Competenze

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required.
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry with emphasis on synthesis and mechanisms.
• Experience mentoring technicians and coordinating lab work.
• Familiarity with fluorine chemistry and radical polymerization is a plus.

As a Chemist/Organic Chemist in R&I, you will drive innovative research and scalable processes to support sustainable growth. You’ll work on fluorine chemistry and radical polymerization, leading experiments from lab to pilot scale while collaborating across internal and external partners. You’ll translate ideas into practical programs, contribute to patents and reports, and mentor technicians. This role blends deep scientific expertise with cross-functional teamwork to advance Syensqo’s mission of sustainable solutions.

• Design, execute, and lead experimental research at laboratory and pilot scale
• Perform hands‑on laboratory work to develop new synthetic approaches and materials
• Supervise and coordinate technicians and maintain laboratory organization
• Develop expertise in fluorine organic chemistry and radical polymerization
• Generate innovative ideas and translate them into actionable experimental programs
• Contribute to patent filings and scientific reports
• Collaborate with internal teams (Production, PAM, RAPS, CTD, Marketing) and external partners
• Monitor scientific developments, competitors’ patents, and opportunities in the field
• Drive R&I projects ensuring objectives and deadlines are met
• Comply with HSE and laboratory safety practices
• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field
• Knowledge of fluorine chemistry and radical polymerization is a plus
• Excellent organic chemistry knowledge with strong synthetic and mechanistic understanding
• Strong experimental intuition and problem‑solving ability
• Curious, self‑motivated, and persistent in tackling research problems
