Job summary

RINA in Genova seeks a Fleet Performance Compliance Engineer under Italian Law 68/99 to monitor and analyze vessel performance and ensure regulatory and class compliance within the Marine Compliance, Classification & Statutory Certification division.

The role collaborates with senior engineers and authorities to resolve detentions, prepares survey reports, and gathers data from class societies to support continuous improvement and safer operations.

Qualifications

• Registered as a protected category candidate under Italian Law 68/99 (collocamento mirato).
• Proficiency in English language written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of marine systems, ship operations, maritime regulations, class/statutory surveys.
• Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify performance trends.
• Knowledge in data analysis tools and software such as Microsoft Office, Power BI, etc.
• Experience as Ship Surveyor.
• Experience as Deck/Engineer Officer (required for candidates with High School Diploma).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and investigate Port State and Flag State inspection/detention cases to identify corrective/preventive actions.
• Assist in responding to vessel detentions alongside authorities and operations teams.
• Monitor fleet performance by collecting and analyzing machinery and systems data.
• Collect data from various sources and from classification society databases.
• Prepare reports and presentations on fleet performance and compliance.
• Provide recommendations for maintenance and repairs to ensure safe and compliant operation.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
