MERMEC is seeking a Firmware Engineer to participate in complete hardware and firmware design of digital electronics, from component selection to FPGA/SoC implementation. You will work on VHDL/Verilog designs, write C/C++ drivers, and contribute to software for test and validation.

You will collaborate with hardware, optical and software engineers, define specifications, and develop verification procedures while maintaining existing projects and IP-based methodologies.

Competenze

• Degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering.
• 1–2 years of experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge of HDL for FPGA design (VHDL preferred) or Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA tool suites (Xilinx/Intel).
• Nice to have PCB design skills (Altium).
• Nice to have Matlab/Simulink experience.
• Experience with software drivers for Windows or Linux.

Mansioni

• Define technical specifications and hardware requirements for digital designs targeting FPGAs/SoCs.
• Estimate implementation effort for given tasks.
• Design, simulate, validate and debug high-speed digital designs for FPGA devices (VHDL/Verilog).
• Develop custom IP for microcontrollers implemented in FPGA and related driver (C).
• Firmware design in C for microcontroller devices.
• Develop simple software applications in C/C++ for SoC design and test apps.
• Maintain and debug existing projects.
• Reuse IP-based design methodologies and document specifications.
• Develop test hardware and procedures to prove correct operation; collaborate with hardware, optical and software engineers.
