Hitachi Energy in Lodi is seeking a Financial Analyst and Trade Compliance Controlling Specialist to act as the finance business partner for Trade Compliance activities. You will monitor the financial impact of trade regulations and develop reporting to balance compliance, risk, and business performance.

You'll collaborate with multiple functions, support budgeting and forecasting, and help implement digital tools to optimize customs and trade processes while maintaining strict internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Controlling, Finance Business Partnering, Trade Compliance, Customs, Risk Management, or related areas.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), business intelligence tools, and digitalization projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Analyze trade-related costs, including customs duties, brokerage fees, sanctions-related impacts, and logistics costs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities related to Trade Compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Trade Compliance, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams.

The opportunity

For our BU High Voltage in Lodi we are looking for a Financial Analyst and Trade Compliance Controlling Specialist who will act as the finance business partner for Trade Compliance activities, ensuring alignment between compliance requirements, operational performance, and financial objectives.

You will monitor and analyze the financial impact of trade regulations, customs duties, tariffs, free trade agreements and import/export requirements on business performance; you will support management with data-driven insights and recommendations to balance compliance, risk management, and business efficiency; you will develop reporting and KPIs to measure Trade Compliance performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.

Governance, Controls & Risk Management

• Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Identify compliance risks, process gaps, and control weaknesses, proposing sustainable corrective actions.
• Coordinate internal reviews and support audits related to Trade Compliance and customs activities.

Financial Analysis & Performance Monitoring

• Analyze trade-related costs, including customs duties, brokerage fees, sanctions-related impacts, and logistics compliance costs.
• Provide visibility on cost drivers and opportunities for optimization while maintaining full compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities related to Trade Compliance initiatives.

Process Improvement & Digitalization

• Support the implementation and enhancement of digital solutions, ERP functionalities, and automation tools related to customs and trade compliance management.
• Promote standardization of processes and reporting practices across functions and locations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training

• Collaborate closely with Trade Compliance, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams.
• Support the development of awareness programs and training initiatives to strengthen compliance and control culture.
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related Trade Compliance topics across the organization.

Your background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Controlling, Finance Business Partnering, Trade Compliance, Customs, Risk Management, or related areas.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), business intelligence tools, and digitalization projects.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
