Deutsche Bank in Milan seeks a senior DCM origination professional to support primary-market debt transactions across Italy and the wider region. The role focuses on Financial Institutions with exposure to Corporate, SSA and Structured Finance origination, collaborating with Syndicate, Risk Management Solutions, and Investment Banking teams.

The successful candidate will bring proven DCM origination experience, fluency in Italian and strong English, and the ability to deliver high-quality client

The DCM team comprises product specialists who are responsible for winning debt capital markets mandates and providing expertise to frequent and prospective issuers in partnership with Origination, Rates Trading and the Institutional Client Group. Clients include public-sector entities—particularly sovereigns, multilateral development banks and agencies—as well as corporates and financial institutions. The team’s core products include public bonds and private placements, EMTN programme issuance, capital solutions and liability management transactions.

FIG Debt origination clients are among the largest and most sophisticated participants in the financing market, and transactions are often high profile. The role therefore requires consistently high standards in a demanding, fast-paced and highly competitive environment, with close coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the origination and execution of primary-market debt transactions and provide debt capital markets expertise to clients across Italy, Greece and the wider region with focus on Financial Institutions but with exposures with Corporate, SSA and Structured Finance origination.
• Collaborate with Debt Syndicate, Risk Management Solutions, Investment Banking Coverage, Regional Management and infrastructure functions, including Legal and Compliance.
• Contribute to the marketing, origination, structuring and execution of capital markets offerings for clients across the region.

Skills

• Demonstrated experience in DCM origination and coverage of a comparable client base.
• Fluency in Italian and strong professional proficiency in English.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively, manage time effectively and deliver multiple assignments progressing at different speeds.
• Confidence in challenging established processes, generating ideas and designing practical, high-quality solutions.
• Strong awareness of macroeconomic and political developments, with experience advising public-sector clients, corporates and financial institutions on fundraising.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues; an established network of DCM and FIC professionals is an advantage.
• Ability to identify relevant products and explain their implications and strategic considerations clearly and concisely.
• Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel and established DCM market-data sources, with the ability to analyse information efficiently and prepare high-quality client materials.
• Proven ability to use AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows and solve business problems, while applying critical judgement and ensuring the responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
