European Sales Manager - Energy Offtake Solutions

Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 17 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind and storage projects across nine markets in Europe. This year, Galileo completed its transition to Independent Power Producer(IPP) in Italy, our first market for owned operating assets, with the ambitionto extend this model to other key European markets in the coming years.
We are looking for our new European Sales Manager - EnergyOfftake Solutions, who will originate, negotiate and secure a broad range ofenergy offtake solutions for Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects with utilitiesand corporate customers across Galileo's active European markets, with priorityfocus on Italy. This is a sales-first role: we are looking for someone with agenuine commercial mindset and a track record of selling energy through diversesolutions. This person will be based in Milan (possibility of hybrid remoteworking), reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.
What you’ll do:
- Segment potential utilities and corporate customer groups , develop business relationships and propose appropriate commercial structures& marketing plans across both segments.
- Proactively scout the market to identify and target potential offtakers,with priority focus on Italy and, as key secondary markets, Germany, UK, Polandand, Ireland. Evaluate requests for proposals, lead bid preparation, preparecompetitive analysis.
- Identify the most effective offtake products to placein each target market - including PPAs, storage offtake andflexibility/ancillary services solutions - building relationships with clientsto understand which solutions work best in the key markets above, factoring inmarket competition and evolving regulation.
- Lead the negotiation and origination of offtake deals, working closely withGalileo's legal team and relevant departments (development, M&A, technical,pricing) who provide contractual and cross-functional support throughout theprocess.
- Interface directly with Galileo's local Business Development directors toalign origination efforts with the broader development strategy in each country.
- Develop clear and effective processes and ways of working across allactivities within the offtake origination function.
- Participate in relevant industry conferences and other events to foster theknowledge of Galileo as an industry leader.
Requirements
What you’llneed :
- At least 5 years’ professional experience in the renewable energy sectorand a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a sales role focused on energyofftake agreements (PPAs and beyond). Specific experience in the Italian marketis a priority requirement.
- Strong commercial/hunter mindset with a demonstrated ability to originateand close deals with utility and corporate clients.
- Excellent communication skills - not only in presenting and negotiating,but in actively listening to clients to understand their specific needs andtranslate them into tailor-made solutions.
- Well-established relationships with utility and corporate customers and offtakeadvisors in the EU renewable energy sector.
- Comfortable attending offtake events both at the regional, national andlocal levels.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Economics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills inEnglish and Italian.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to take on broadand varied challenges and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
