Galileo Green Energy GmbH in Milan is seeking a Compliance Manager to strengthen regulatory adherence across the group, reporting to the General Counsel. The role blends policy development with hands-on risk assessments in a dynamic startup environment focused on renewable projects across Europe.

• Master degree in law and professional certification preferred.
• 4-6 years of experience in compliance management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments in energy policy and governance.
• Hands-on experience maintaining compliance programs, policies, and controls.

Galileo is a fast-growing renewable energy IPP, investor and operator , currently in the very dynamic start-up phase.Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over17 GWofsolarPV,onshore wind,offshore windandstorageprojects across nine marketsin Europe.

We are looking for our newCompliance Managerto play a critical role inensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethicalpractices across the Galileo group. T his person will be based in Milan(with the possibility of hybrid remote working)and report to the General Counsel.

What you’ll do:

• Support the ongoing implementation, maintenance andcontinuous improvement of the company’s compliance framework, policies andprocedures, proposing updates or new initiatives where appropriate.
  
• Monitor the effectiveness of existing compliancecontrols and processes, identify opportunities for improvement and recommendpragmatic solutions to enhance efficiency and consistency across theorganization.
  
• Conduct regular assessments and audits to identifypotential compliance risks and areas for improvement and independently managefollow-up actions and remediation plans.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, includinglegal, finance, operations, and project management, to integrate complianceconsiderations into business processes and decision-making.
  
• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements andindustry trends, and proactively advise senior management on potential impactsand opportunities.
  
• Coordinate and deliver existing compliance trainingprograms and, where needed, develop additional training or awarenessinitiatives to address emerging risks or business needs.
  
• Serve as a primary point of contact for ourshareholders, plus for regulatory agencies, industry associations, and otherexternal stakeholders on compliance-related matters, in coordination with theGeneral Counsel where appropriate.
  
• Support internal investigations into potentialcompliance breaches or concerns, including gathering information, coordinatingrelevant stakeholders, documenting findings and monitoring the implementationof corrective actions.
  
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related tocompliance activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for seniormanagement, board of directors and relevant stakeholders highlighting keycompliance metrics, initiatives, and challenges.
  
• Support the General Counsel on sustainability and ESG topics,including governance framework design, the update of group policies andprocedures, and ESG reporting towards investors.
  
• Stay abreast of emerging compliance frameworks andtechnologies, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance efficiency andeffectiveness.
  

Requirements

What you’ll need:

• Master degree in law;advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance &Ethics Professional) preferred.
  
• 4-6 years of experience in compliance management,preferably within the renewable energy industry or a closely related sector.
  
• Good understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks,such as environmental regulations, energy policies, and corporate governancerequirements.
  
• Hands-on experience in managing and maintainingcompliance programs, policies, procedures, risk assessments and controls within a complex or international organization.
  
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail,with the ability to identify compliance risks and develop pragmatic solutions.
  
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, withthe ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels ofthe organization.
  
• Sound judgment and integrity, with a commitment toupholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity andaccountability.
  
• Proficiency in relevant software applications andtools, including compliance management systems and data analytics platforms, isa plus.
  
• Very fluent Italian and English; knowledge of otherEuropean languages considered a plus.
  
• T eam player, with cultural awareness and curiosity,willing to work with other functions and members of the Legal & Complianceteam on joint initiatives.
  
• A desire and a passion to contribute to the energytransition with a pan-European focus by joining a company looking to developrenewable projects across different markets.

• Competitive compensation: 75,000 – 85,000 € gross annual total compensation package, composed of fixed gross annual salary (RAL) and annual performance bonus, based on experience, skills and role responsibilities.
