Lever, Inc. in Italy invites applications for an Engineering Manager – Ceph & Distributed Storage. This remote leadership role guides a globally distributed team building scalable, open-source storage solutions powered by Ceph. Strong emphasis on architecture, practices, and people leadership, with up to 20% international travel.

You will mentor engineers, drive delivery, and shape strategy while maintaining high engineering standards in an agile, remote-first environment.

Competenze

• Strong Python and/or C++ software engineering background
• Hands-on experience with scale-out storage on Linux, ideally Ceph
• Knowledge of Linux storage subsystems, filesystems, distributed and network storage
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers
• Understanding of software development principles, architecture, testing, and documentation
• Experience working in agile environments
• Ability to balance technical work with people leadership
• Excellent communication across globally distributed teams
• Curiosity about emerging technologies in distributed systems
• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 2–4 in-person events per year)
