Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Firmware Test and Product Test Engineer to define and validate SSD firmware for datacenter applications. You will work with firmware, hardware, and product teams to ensure robust validation coverage and leverage AI-enabled tools for faster test development.

The role requires strong C and Python skills, a Master’s degree in a related engineering field, and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop known, grey-box, and closed system validation tests for SSD firmware used in datacenter applications.
• Partner with firmware, hardware, and product development teams to translate product requirements into effective and scalable validation coverage.
• Create, execute, and analyze test plans that verify functionality, quality, and reliability across the SSD development lifecycle, with a strong focus on identifying firmware issues and improving overall product robustness.
• Use C, Python, and automation frameworks to accelerate firmware bug finding, support debug and root-cause analysis, and collaborate with the firmware team to drive effective issue resolution and continuous improvement of validation methodologies.
• Leverage AI-supported development and validation tools to speed up test creation and contribute to industry-leading storage solutions.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Firmware Test and Product Test Engineer who is excited to work at the heart of SSD innovation. In this role, you will define and test strategies to validate SSD firmware for datacenter applications, working closely with product development teams to ensure robust coverage of product requirements. You will also work in an engineering environment supported by a growing set of AI-enabled develop and verification tools. Come and join us!

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven programming skills in C and Python.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel, including international and intercontinental business trips, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in product development, validation, verification, or product testing is highly valued.
• Strong Python skills for test development, automation, and data-driven problem solving.
• Knowledge of SSD architecture, storage concepts, and related protocols is a strong plus.

The base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is: 32.000,00 € - 55.000,00 € per year, with B2 CCNL Level.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the position.
