European Investment Bank (EIB) invites applications for an Associate Energy Sector Specialist in Luxembourg. You will join the Energy Advisory and Energy Efficiency Division within the Energy and Environment Department, contributing to investment proposals and energy transition projects.

The role involves working in multidisciplinary teams, engaging with stakeholders, and travelling outside the EU. This is a full-time 3-year contract at grade 4, with relocation support available and regular

Competenze

• University degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor) in Economics, Finance, Business or related studies for energy sector projects.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the energy sector including due diligence, appraisal or monitoring.
• Knowledge of energy markets and EU energy/climate policy frameworks; regulatory arrangements and support mechanisms.
• Ability to perform financial and economic analysis, including review of financial models and scenario analyses.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French, with good command of the other.

Mansioni

• Contribute to investment decisions by assessing the technical, economic and financial viability of energy projects and programmes.
• Evaluate wider value, sustainability and alignment with EU and EIB energy objectives.
• Analyze energy markets, demand trends, pricing and regulatory frameworks relevant to projects.
• Work with lending teams through the project cycle from screening to appraisal, monitoring and completion.
• Assess project risks and financing considerations, including model outputs and scenario analyses.
• Translate complex analyses into clear, concise advice for decision-makers in reports and opinions.
• Support external analytical work and define consultants’ assignments.
• Represent and support EIB in external engagements and sector events.
