World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Telecoms Preparedness & Capacity Development Consultant to strengthen emergency telecommunications readiness and capacity building. The role involves designing, delivering, and overseeing initiatives for country operations and partners.

The consultant will update tools, develop guidance materials, and lead the rollout of preparedness programs, with focus on Southeast Asia and Southern Africa, including remote work and frequent travel.

Competenze

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, learning and capacity development.
• Advanced degree in disaster management, development studies, international relations, business, humanitarian affairs, or telecommunications.
• Experience with ETC is highly desirable.
• Required languages include English, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, Russian, Spanish.

Mansioni

• Design, deliver and oversee preparedness initiatives and capacity development for emergency telecommunications.
• Liaise with WFP offices and external partners to ensure coordinated planning and implementation.
• Develop the LTC Telecoms service offer for local responders, humanitarian communities and governments.
• Update technical tools and guidance materials for field-based assessments.
• Develop position papers on early warning systems and AI.
• Lead training package development for telecoms in fragile contexts and oversee knowledge products.
