Leonardo SpA in Italy seeks a SubSystem Engineer for Avionics Systems Development, focusing on display systems and HMI. The role covers modeling, HMI design, graphical implementation, SW integration and verification to meet aerospace safety standards.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to DO-178C/ARP4754A compliant development and certification activities while using Model-Based Design with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ in a hybrid work setup.

Competenze

• Degree in engineering with focus on Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
• Experience with embedded avionics and safety-critical SW.
• Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ for real-time systems.

For our Helicopters Division we are seeking a highly motivated SubSystem Engineer to join our Avionics Systems Development Engineering team, focusing on Display Systems and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI). The candidate will be involved in the design and development of safety-critical avionics applications using Model-Based Design (MBD) methodologies, with a strong emphasis on graphical systems, pilot interaction, and human factors. The role covers the full design and development subsystem lifecycle, including system modeling, HMI design, graphical implementation, SW integration, SW requirement definition, verification, and certification, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and usability requirements. The focus of the development is in the Application SW and its integration on the platform (HW and Low Level SW).

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of embedded software for avionics display systems (e.g., PFD, MFD, Touchscreens Controls, Helmet Mounted Displays) applying Model-Based Design methodologies
• Implement graphic of touchscreen display with a proper HMI with particular attention to Flight Test Operations pilot workload
• SW lifecycle management in accordance to applicable standard (DO-178C, DO-331, ARP4754A)
• Integrate Application SW on target systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, system engineering)
• SW Requirement definition
• Requirements degree in Engineering technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electronic, Electric, Telecommunication, Automation Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering)
• Proven experience with Matlab Simulink and SW development (C/C++) knowledge of Real Time Safety Critical Embedded SW development aspects interest in Human Machine Interface (HMI) aspects
