Job description

Pozzuoli (Naples), Italy | Full-time | On-site

Role Overview

Join TSD-Space to build, assemble, and test high-reliability electronic hardware for space missions, from Earth orbit to deep-space exploration.

You will contribute to PCB design, precision assembly, mechanical prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting, working alongside experienced engineers and technicians.

Who We Are

Techno System Developments (TSD-Space) is an Italian aerospace electronics company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of high-reliability onboard and ground electronic systems.

With flight heritage dating back to 1993, TSD-Space has contributed to over 50 space missions and accumulated more than 500,000 hours of flight operations. Today, our hardware is on eight currently operating space systems, spanning Earth-orbiting satellites, deep-space spacecraft and orbiters, and the International Space Station.

Our expertise spans the complete payload data chain, from imaging and data acquisition to handling, compression, storage and onboard processing, together with spacecraft avionics and ground support equipment. We develop solutions for a broad range of applications, including Earth Observation, in-orbit servicing, navigation and inspection, and deep-space exploration.

What You'll Do
  • PCB design support: Contribute to electronic board design and layout using PCB CAD tools, working from schematics and engineering specifications.
  • Component selection and procurement: Help identify, source, and organize electronic components and materials for prototypes and assemblies.
  • Electronic assembly: Assemble and solder through-hole (PTH) and surface-mount (SMD) components, using microscopes and precision laboratory tools.
  • Mechanical prototyping: Support the fabrication and modification of mechanical parts using conventional and CNC workshop equipment, including milling machines and lathes, under appropriate supervision.
  • Testing and troubleshooting: Assist with board-level testing, measurements, fault identification, and verification before and after system integration.
  • Technical documentation: Record assembly, inspection, and test results, helping maintain traceability and accurate technical records.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field; an ITS qualification in a relevant discipline; or a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and PCB assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and basic mechanical drawings.
  • Practical experience with electronic circuits or devices gained through education, laboratory work, internships, employment, or personal projects.
  • Good manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail when handling small components and laboratory equipment.
  • Willingness to learn, troubleshoot problems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Full professional fluency in Italian and basic working knowledge of English.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with PCB CAD tools, electronic board layout, or mechanical CAD software.
  • Practical experience with PTH/SMD soldering, rework, and inspection.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Exposure to mechanical machining, conventional workshop tools, or CNC equipment.
  • Experience documenting test procedures, measurements, or assembly activities.
  • Interest in aerospace electronics, embedded systems, or high-reliability hardware.
Why Join TSD-Space

At TSD-Space, you'll contribute to challenging space missions and work closely with experienced engineers and technicians throughout the hardware development lifecycle.

Our focused, multidisciplinary teams give you the opportunity to:

  • Make a real impact: Work on high-reliability hardware designed for demanding space missions.
  • Experience the full development lifecycle: Gain exposure to projects from customer requirements and system design through manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery.
  • Take ownership: Contribute to technical problem-solving and take responsibility for your work in a collaborative environment.
  • Keep growing: Build your expertise through hands-on engineering, continuous learning, and increasing technical responsibility.
What We Offer
  • Permanent employment: An open-ended employment contract under the applicable Italian National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Terziario).
  • Competitive compensation: A competitive salary with a 14-month pay structure and an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • Flexible working arrangements: We value in-person collaboration, particularly for hands-on engineering activities, while offering flexible working hours and occasional remote work depending on role requirements and project needs.
