Matchtech Group is recruiting an Electrical Project Manager for a major data centre project in Milan, Italy. You will lead MV/LV containment packages, manage on-site subcontractors, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery within schedule and budget.

Requirements include proven data centre experience, MV/LV expertise, and the ability to work on a 10/4 rotation in Milan. English is required; Italian is a plus. Competitive salary and international exposure offered.

Position Overview

Our client is a leading global contractor specialising in complex infrastructure and major MEP projects across Europe. We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager on a permanent basis to lead the electrical packages for a high-profile data centre development in Milan, Italy.

This role focuses directly on managing and overseeing the delivery of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) Containment alongside MV/LV Cable Pulling operations. Operating on a 10/4 rotation, you will lead site-based subcontractors and engineers, ensuring works are executed safely, to high quality standards, and strictly within schedule and budgetary parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• Package Management: Take complete ownership of the installation, quality assurance, and commercial delivery of all MV/LV containment pathways and primary MV/LV cable-pulling packages.




• Site Leadership: Oversee daily on-site operations, managing sub-contractors, supervisors, and specialist teams to ensure production targets and milestones are achieved.




• Technical Interface: Review technical drawings, BIM models, specifications, and method statements to ensure constructability and full compliance with local Italian standards and client specifications.




• Programme & Progress: Work closely with the Lead Planner to monitor progress against baseline schedules, identifying potential bottlenecks or risks early and deploying mitigation strategies.




• Commercial & Variations: Partner with the Quantity Surveying team to track package expenditure, evaluate variation requests, and manage sub-contractor applications.




• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Drive a uncompromising safety culture on site, ensuring strict adherence to site HSE guidelines, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS).




• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for electrical sub-packages in client meetings, interfacing with general contractors, design teams, and testing/commissioning engineers.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven track record as an Electrical Project Manager delivering packages on large-scale data centres or high-tech industrial construction projects.




• Technical Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of MV/LV power distribution infrastructure, containment routing, heavy cable pulling methodologies, and associated testing procedures.




• Qualifications: Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related trade background with relevant site management accreditations.




• Languages: Full professional proficiency in English is required; operational command of Italian is highly advantageous.




• Mobility: Willingness and capability to work on a structured 10/4 rotation based in Milan.




• Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills in a multi-national, fast-paced site environment.
