Job summary

TMC Sweden is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical panels (SLD, PCC, MCC, PLC/I-O) and handle system design, including cable sizing, trays and routes, in Bologna, Italy. You will manage drives, inverters and high‑power actuators and perform protection calculations in compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, EN 60204-1 and ISO 13849-1.

You will also oversee technical procurement, draft purchase specifications, evaluate supplier offers, and design electronic boards (PCB)

Qualifications

• Design electrical panels and subsystems according to Machinery Directive and EN standards.
• Experience with EPLAN P8 and AutoCAD for electrical schematics.
• Know-how in sizing drives, inverters and high‑power actuators (Siemens, ABB, Rockwell).
• Ability to perform protection calculations and EMC/EMI verifications.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical panels (SLD, PCC, MCC, PLC/I-O) using EPLAN P8 and AutoCAD.
• Size and route cables, trays and conductors; perform protection calculations to EN 60204-1 and ISO 13849-1.
• Draft procurement specs and evaluate supplier offers.
• Design PCB layouts using Altium, KiCad or OrCAD; verify hardware tolerances and reliability.

About This Vacancy

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to handle the design of electrical panels (SLD, PCC, MCC, PLC/I-O) using EPLAN P8 and AutoCAD, and the system design (cable sizing, cable trays, cable routes). The candidate will manage the sizing and selection of drives, inverters, and high-power actuators (Siemens, ABB, Rockwell), as well as electrical calculations for protections and cables, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, EN 60204-1, and ISO 13849-1. Additionally, they will oversee technical procurement, drafting purchase specifications and evaluating supplier offers comparatively. Finally, they will handle the design of electronic boards (PCB) using electronic CAD tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD), including component sizing, power/DC-DC circuits, and hardware verification (tolerances, reliability, EMC/EMI), with a preferred knowledge of the paper process and PLM Teamcenter.
