The Umbra Institute, an American study abroad institution based in Perugia, Italy, is looking for a Digital Communications & Student Services Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis for a maternity leave replacement. The position will primarily focus on digital communications, social media, website content, SEO, blogging, and the use of AI tools, with a smaller portion of the role dedicated to student services and administrative support. Degree or relevant academic background in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication. Good understanding of SEO and web content management. Excellent written and verbal English skills (at least B2; C1 preferred), as English is the primary language of communication at the Institute. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Familiarity with AI tools and generative AI applications and an interest in exploring new technologies. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. A flexible and proactive approach to working in a dynamic, international environment.
Previous experience managing professional or institutional social media accounts. Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms. Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or similar digital analytics tools. Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other graphic design software. Basic knowledge of photography, video editing, or other multimedia content creation. Previous experience in digital marketing, communications, education, or an international environment. Experience working with students or in a student-facing role.
