Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Delivery Manager – Vendor Management within the GCAP Joint Venture to lead end-to-end vendor delivery, govern contracts, and monitor SLAs ensuring value for money for complex engineering programmes.

Based in Italy with a two-year secondment to Reading, UK, the role blends technical leadership with stakeholder engagement and risk management across multiple vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in vendor or delivery management in complex regulated environments
• Degree in engineering, business management and negotiation, supply chain, or related field
• Proven experience in contract management, SLA enforcement, and vendor performance monitoring
• Strong understanding of vendor governance frameworks, compliance, and risk management
• Experience managing multiple vendors and system integrators across complex delivery landscapes
• Knowledge of cost optimization strategies and value-for-money in vendor engagements
• Experience supporting toolset selection and technology evaluations with stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities while delivering
• Strong delivery mindset with experience in waterfall, agile, or hybrid delivery models
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery and continuous improvement of vendor-provided products/services within scope and timelines
• Ensure vendors meet contractual obligations, roadmaps, schedules, and quality standards
• Drive cost optimization and value-for-money while adhering to standards
• Support toolset selection and technology evaluations for seamless architecture integration
• Manage upgrades, enhancements, and decommissioning across vendor-delivered solutions
• Enforce vendor management guidelines and delivery governance
• Act as primary interface between vendors and internal stakeholders
• Capture and consolidate vendor requirements to avoid duplication
• Support business change initiatives with training and information materials
• Collaborate with other Delivery Managers and Product Owners for alignment
