Job summary

ELCA is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team in Italy and drive large-scale data migration initiatives with a focus on data quality and reliability. You will work on dbt transformations, SQL Server-based pipelines, and automated data quality controls in an international, collaborative setting.

You will collaborate with analysts, developers and product teams, ensuring robust data solutions and continuous improvement of migration processes using Git, CI/CD and modern data technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL expertise with complex queries and performance tuning.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience building ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Experience with dbt; SSIS or similar data integration tools.
• Understanding of data modelling and data quality principles.
• Experience with Git-based development, code reviews and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and JIRA/Confluence.
• Analytical mindset, autonomy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with large, high-volume datasets.
• English level B2 or above.

Responsibilities

• Execute iterative data migration cycles and analyze errors across data layers.
• Identify root causes in data issues and implement fixes in transformation rules.
• Maintain automated data quality controls and reconciliation KPIs.
• Develop mapping and transformation rules from functional specs.
• Investigate defects during testing and production support.
• Contribute to process improvement and CI/CD automation.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers and product teams in an international environment.
