Job summary

PeoItaly is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a major Data Centre development in the Milan area. The selected candidate will join the client’s engineering and construction team to cover HVAC, piping and mechanical equipment from design through testing, commissioning and handover, working closely with clients, consultants and subcontractors on-site in Bertonico, Lodi.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience with MEP contractors, strong knowledge of HVAC and pipework,

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Previous experience in a comparable role with a mechanical or MEP contractor.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework and mechanical equipment.
• Experience in design management and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and submittals.
• Knowledge of construction, inspection, testing and commissioning processes.
• Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent organizational, technical and communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the technical delivery of assigned mechanical systems and work packages.
• Manage technical communication with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, technical submittals and RFIs.
• Identify and resolve design interfaces and clashes between mechanical systems and other disciplines.
• Support coordination of HVAC, pipework and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments for mechanical activities.
• Support procurement, supplier reviews and equipment selection processes.
• Monitor installation activities and verify compliance with project information.
• Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, EHS and Commissioning teams.
• Support inspections, testing, commissioning and system completion activities.
• Assist with closing technical comments, punch-list items and outstanding actions.
• Maintain accurate technical, as-built and completion documentation.
• Record scope changes and provide technical information for commercial evaluations.
• Report technical constraints, delivery risks and potential programme impacts.
