Job summary

Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L. seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead data center builds from MXP site offices, coordinating general contractors and multiple disciplines with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You will travel as needed, mentor junior staff, and manage commercial contract administration and cost control to ensure on-time, on-budget turnovers while delivering high standards for AWS infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operational role, or experience in commercial tasks or environments.
• 4+ years in construction site management.
• 2+ years responsibility for management of construction contracts and contractors, including involvement in commercial contract administration and cost control processes of large, complex projects.
• Ability to operate in a working environment conducted through English.

Responsibilities

• Be based from the MXP site construction offices and act as first responder for issues.
• Travel to data centers, offices or vendor premises as required to support projects.
• Manage General Contractors on data center construction sites across disciplines.
• Ensure safety standards and raise observations with GC to improve safety.
• Undertake commercial management of construction contracts and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors, developers and vendors to deliver project turnovers.
• Review site work, quality control, and documents for contract compliance.
• Support negotiations with general contractors and procurement; evaluate bids/claims.
• Record and report schedule, cost and budget metrics; lead on claims resolution.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
