Job description

We’re redefining performance engineering with AI - join us!

Akamas is a software platform that reshapes IT performance optimization through AI, automation, and the domain expertise we’ve developed by working with some of the most demanding enterprise customers across the world, achieving unprecedented levels of performance, efficiency, and cost savings.

About the role

We are looking for a Customer Success Engineer to work closely with our enterprise customers and help them unlock the full value of Akamas solutions.

This role is ideal for an experienced Customer Success or Solutions Engineer looking for a new technical challenge, or a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineer interested in moving towards a more customer-facing role with a stronger focus on business impact.

What you will do
  • Guide customers through onboarding and platform adoption, ensuring a smooth start and long-term success.

  • Deliver workshops, product training, and enablement sessions to help customers understand and use Akamas effectively.

  • Help customers identify the right use cases, define objectives, and adopt best practices to maximize the value of our platform.

  • Monitor customer progress, measure outcomes, and communicate results through regular business reviews.

  • Coordinate support requests and technical escalations, working with internal teams to ensure customer issues are addressed effectively.

  • Lead customer adoption initiatives and projects, ensuring progress towards agreed goals.

  • Build strong relationships with customer engineering and development teams, acting as a trusted partner and advisor.

  • Gather customer feedback and collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to improve Akamas.

  • Share best practices, customer success stories, and lessons learned internally and at industry events and conferences.

What we're looking for
  • 4+ years of experience in either technical customer-facing roles (e.g. Customer Success Engineer, Solution Engineer, Technical Account Manager) or hands-on engineering roles (e.g. DevOps, SRE, Performance, Cloud or Systems Engineer).

  • A good understanding of IT architectures and cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes.

  • Basic scripting and automation skills (e.g. Bash, Python), with the ability to understand technical challenges and work with engineering teams to address them.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

  • A customer-oriented mindset, with an interest in building relationships, understanding customer needs, and helping them achieve their goals.

  • Fluent in English, as you will work closely with international customers and engage with stakeholders across different countries.

Nice to have
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Exposure to application stacks (Java, Node.js, Go, etc.) or performance tuning concepts.
  • Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Previous involvement in tech communities, customer enablement, or open-source projects.
About the offer
  • Contract Type: Italian Collective Labour Agreement - CCNL Commercio
  • Compensation: The expected gross annual salary (RAL) for this position starts from €48,000 and will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications assessed throughout the selection process.
Why Akamas?
  • Make a real impact: Last year, we secured a $10 million investment from United Ventures, a leading venture capital firm investing in high-growth technology companies. This funding fuels our next stage of innovation and global expansion. We’re on the lookout for dynamic individuals who want to make a significant impact from day one and be part of a rapidly scaling tech company.
  • A remote-first mindset:We work primarily remotely and focus on outcomes rather than where work happens. At the same time, we value staying connected as a team and collaborating effectively across locations.
  • Real impact from day one:The team is small, which means your contributions are visible and your ideas get heard. There's no long chain between you and the decisions that matter.
  • A good moment to join:We're a growing startup with enterprise customers and a team that takes its craft seriously. There's still room to shape how things are done here.
  • Tech your way:Mac or Windows? Up to you. We’ll set you up with the tools that make you feel at home and help you do your best work.

Akamas is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to ensuring fair and non-discriminatory treatment across all stages of the recruitment process and throughout the entire employment lifecycle, in accordance with applicable law.
