BEST Italia in Milan is seeking an experienced Country Manager to lead its Italian business and drive operational and organisational development. The role requires permanent presence in Milan, with direct accountability for performance, profitability and a bridge between the Italian organisation and the group headquartered in Poland.

We are looking for an experienced and pragmatic Country Manager to lead our Italian business and support its next stage of operational and organisational development. This is a senior leadership role with overall responsibility for the performance, operations and development of a company of approximately 40 employees in Milan. The Country Manager will report to the Group Management Board and work closely with the headquarters in Poland. Permanent presence in Milan is required. The role As Country Manager Italy, you will be responsible for translating the Group’s strategy, standards and priorities into effective local execution. Your key mission will be to build a strong and stable bridge between the Italian organisation and the Group, while uniting the local team around business objectives, operational efficiency and shared accountability. This is not an administrative representation role. We are looking for a leader who can combine execution discipline, operational effectiveness and mature people management, while building trust and constructive cooperation between the local organisation and headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the performance, operations, organisation and development of the Italian company.
• Lead a team of approximately 40 employees and strengthen the local management team.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, timely execution and consistent delivery.
• Translate the Group’s strategic direction, priorities and standards into concrete local actions.
• Establish effective communication and cooperation between the Italian organisation and the headquarters in Poland.
• Analyse the effectiveness of debt collection operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Implement KPIs, management routines, reporting standards and execution control mechanisms.
• Improve processes, productivity, quality of work and cost efficiency.
• Support business growth and create the conditions for increased profitability and investment capacity.
• Report results, risks, corrective actions and development initiatives to the Group.
• Represent the company in dealings with key local stakeholders when required.

What we are looking for

• Experience as a Country Manager, General Manager, Managing Director, Operations Director, Business Unit Director or in a comparable senior leadership role.
• Proven success in managing an organisation or a significant operational unit comprising at least several dozen employees.
• Experience in an international or matrix environment, preferably with a strong reporting line to international headquarters or a corporate group.
• A track record in leading organisational change, improving efficiency, structuring processes or professionalising management.
• Strong understanding of P&L, cost efficiency, operational profitability and business performance.
• A leadership style that combines authority, accountability, resilience and mature communication.
• Strong focus on KPIs, processes, productivity, quality and measurable business outcomes.
• Ability to make difficult decisions, operate independently and deliver results in a demanding environment.
• Industry background: Direct experience in the debt collection industry will be an advantage, but it is not essential.
• We are also interested in candidates with relevant experience in sectors such as: financial services banking consumer finance debt management BPO or outsourcing operational services leasing insurance asset management.
• The successful candidate should be able to quickly understand the operational, regulatory and economic characteristics of the debt collection business.

• Office location in Missori, Milan, Italy
• Permanent presence in the local organisation.
• Fluency in Italian.
• Confident communication in English, enabling effective cooperation with the Group.

Compensation Package

• Gross Base Salary range €120.000-180.000
