The Cumming Group is a leading international project and cost management consultancy. We are recruiting a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Milan office and support the delivery of high-value data centre projects across Italy and Europe.

You will drive cost certainty and commercial strategies from feasibility through close-out, collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in cost consultancy, commercial management or quantity surveying on large-scale projects.
• MRICS, AssocRICS or working towards chartered status preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT and other standard forms of construction contracts.
• Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent commercial acumen and ability to advise clients and project teams.

• Support and mentor junior team members; assist regional leadership with reporting and resources.

The Role:

Cumming Group are looking to recruit a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (or experienced Computista / Preventivista) to join our team in the Milan office. You will support the commercial delivery of complex, high-value data centre projects throughout Italy and Europe. You will contribute to the commercial performance of major mission-critical developments from feasibility and procurement through construction, commissioning and close-out.

Working closely with clients, project teams and senior stakeholders, you will play an important role in driving cost certainty, mitigating risk, and ensuring successful project outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction while contributing to the commercial delivery of some of Europe's most significant digital infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver commercial and cost management services across multiple large-scale data centre projects.
• Support the development and implementation of commercial strategies that support successful project delivery and client objectives.
• Provide cost planning, benchmarking, budgeting and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise clients on procurement strategy, contract selection and risk allocation.
• Manage tender processes, tender analysis and contract award recommendations.
• Support negotiations and administration of contracts, including NEC and JCT forms where applicable.
• Manage variations, change control processes, claims and commercial matters.
• Review project financial performance, forecasts, cash flow and commercial reporting across multiple commissions.
• Drive value engineering initiatives and cost optimisation strategies while maintaining project quality and performance standards.
• Support commercial governance and assurance across project portfolios.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, client pursuits and proposal preparation.
• Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
• Support regional leadership with commercial reporting, resource planning and operational performance management.
• Qualifications:
• Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in cost consultancy, commercial management, or quantity surveying, with exposure to large-scale construction projects.
• Professional Accreditation: MRICS, AssocRICS, or working towards chartered status preferred.
• Experience supporting complex commercial programmes and multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Good understanding of NEC, JCT and other standard forms of construction contract.
• Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure or similarly complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial risk management, procurement strategies and construction project delivery.
• Experience managing multiple projects and client stakeholders simultaneously
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide advice and support to clients and project teams.
