Saipem is seeking a senior Cost Estimator for Sustainable Infrastructures Tendering in Milan. You will quantify costs for staff, equipment, and materials, assess subcontractor bids, and develop cash flow analyses.

The role focuses on transport infrastructures and civil sectors, with travel as projects require. The ideal candidate holds a Masters or Bachelors in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years’ estimating experience, and fluent English (B2).

Competenze

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying.
• At least 10 years as Estimator in Transport Infrastructures Projects and Civil Sectors.
• English: B2 level.
• Knowledge of estimating methodologies and direct/indirect/subcontracting cost analysis.
• Familiarity with estimating tools STR Vision and PRIMUS; analytical in structured databases and Excel.

As a Cost Estimator, you will respond to the Head of Sustinable Infrastructures Tendering department and be part of the Sustainable Infrastructures Business Line.

Your responsibilities

• Analyze the tender documents provided by Client and study scope of work, project schedule, technical specifications and Client’s requirements.
• Develop the cost estimate of project activities and services, including staff, manpower, construction equipment/consumables, assets, plant materials and subcontracts.
• Analyze the Vendors quotation to be included in the bid cost estimate.
• Develop accurate cost analysis for construction works.
• Implement the constructability activities as required (e.g. in the definition of most appropriate erection methods, fabrication/construction sequences, layouts, pre-fabrication strategies, etc.)
• Prepare the bid price sheet and the project cash flow.

What are we looking for?

Education: Master's Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveyor Diploma

Experience: at least 10 years as Estimator within Transport Infrastructures Projects (e.g. Railways, Metro, Motorway) and Civil Sectors.

Languages: English B2

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Estimating Methodologies and cost analysis of Direct, Indirect and Subcontracting works; strong understanding of construction methods, materials and practice.

IT Skills: Familiarity with Estimating Tools such as: STR VISION, PRIMUS, etc.; Digital skillset (i.e. structured Database, excel programming).

What else should you know? You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work for and within the project assigned.
