Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd. is seeking an experienced Construction HSE Specialist to support the construction and commissioning of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects across Italy and beyond.

This on-site role is based in Milan, Italy, and focuses on ensuring the highest HSE standards across our portfolio. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct site inspections and audits, and collaborate with contractors and internal teams to drive a strong safety culture and continuous

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years HSE experience in construction, preferably renewables.
  • Experience with site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian HSE laws (D.Lgs. 81/2008, 152/2006).
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • ASPP/RSPP and CSP/CSE qualifications desirable.

We are looking for an experienced Construction HSE Specialist to join our growing team and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across our utility-scale renewable energy projects.

As Construction HSE Specialist you will support the construction and commissioning of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, initially across Italy and later throughout our international portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HSE professional who is passionate about creating safe working environments and driving a strong safety culture in a fast-growing renewable energy business.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure they meet technical, professional, and HSE requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety assessments to identify risks and verify compliance with HSE standards.
  • Review and assess site-specific risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation.
  • Support the Site Safety Coordinator and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe execution of construction activities.
  • Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformities, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
  • Participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, carrying out root cause analyses and promoting lessons learned.
  • Coordinate site emergency preparedness activities and verify emergency response procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and report HSE performance data and KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, site engagement, awareness campaigns, and close collaboration with operational teams.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of HSE procedures, standards, and management systems.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, engineering teams, and external partners to maintain the highest safety standards across all projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or another relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of HSE experience within construction projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector (Solar PV, BESS, or Wind).
  • Strong experience conducting site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and contractor HSE evaluations.
  • Solid knowledge of Italian HSE legislation, including D.Lgs. 81/2008 and D.Lgs. 152/2006.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Experience reviewing contractor documentation, safety plans, and technical-professional suitability requirements.
  • ASPP/RSPP and/or CSP/CSE qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Fluent in Italian and good command of English.
