Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for on-site work in Rome, Italy. You will lead service and commissioning tasks for substations, ensuring safety, quality, and client acceptance, with frequent collaboration with the site manager and third-party providers.

The role requires a strong electrical engineering background, experience with HV protection, Scada/RTU systems, and IEC 61850/104 protocols, plus fluency in Italian and English and a readiness to travel up to 80%.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in P&C site commissioning of substations.
Experience with test devices such as Omicron and Isa; Hitachi Microscada and RTU560.
Knowledge of IEC 104/101 and 61850 protocols; networking basics.
Fluent in Italian and English; willing to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

Perform service and commissioning activities on site.
Ensure completion of commissioning per contract specs, quality and safety standards.
Coordinate with site manager and third parties; provide feedback and lessons learned.
Produce progress reports and obtain client sign-off; assist with FAT/SAT as needed.
