Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. based in Rome is seeking a Service & Commissioning professional to lead on-site commissioning of HV protection systems and Scada/RTU setups.

You will work closely with the Service & Commissioning team to resolve issues, implement design changes, and ensure customer acceptance. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with substations commissioning experience, Proficiency with Omicron/ISA, Hitachi Microscada, and RTU560.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in P&C site commissioning of substations.
• Experience with test devices (Omicron, Isa).
• Proven experience on Hitachi Microscada and RTU560 product.
• Knowledge of PLC automation commissioning.
• Knowledge of IEC104/101 and 61850 protocol.
• Knowledge of Networking and network devices.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (80%).
• Fluency in Italian and English.

Responsibilities

• Execute service and commissioning at client sites and ensure completion per contract specs.
• Adhere to commissioning schedule and safety standards; independent work with limited supervision.
• Provide mark-ups for as-built documentation and coordinate with site manager and third parties.
• Produce progress reports and obtain client sign-off; conduct safety observations.
• Attend FAT/SAT as required and assist customers during commissioning discussions.

Opportunity

For our Business Unit Grid Automation based in Santa Palomba - Rome, with site-time across Italy expected , we are looking for a talent who will be responsible for service and commissioning, ensuring completion of all activities efficiently, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

How you'll make an impact

You will be working within our Service & Commissioning team, enjoying trouble‑shooting, having a can‑do attitude to resolve technical issues at sites and focusing on finalize customer acceptance certification.

Ensure adherence to the commissioning schedule up to the handover, working independently with limited supervision, giving feedbacks to the organization to apply lessons learned process.

Implement commissioning design changes and provides mark‑ups for as built project documentation and in some specific projects being coordinate with the site manager and third party providers.

Ensure progress reports are produced in accordance with client and satisfactory sign‑off is obtained. Safety Observation Tours will be conducted regularly to report and mitigate potential HSE Hazards.

Execute activities on site related to service and commissioning of HV protection system and Scada/RTU system preparation and testing.

Independent in Snag list handling and resolution.

Assist in technical discussion with customers during commissioning activities.

Attending FAT and SAT as required.

Your background

Bachelor Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Technical Diploma or equivalent qualifications and experience;

Experience in P&C site commissioning of substations;

Experience with test devices (Omicron, Isa); Proven Experience on Hitachi Microscada and RTU560 product; Knowledge of PLC automation commissioning; Knowledge of IEC104/101 and 61850 protocol; Knowledge of Networking and network Device;

Strong communication and problem solving skills;

Flexibility to travel to client sites as required (80%);

Fluency in Italian and English.

Compensation

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows:

• Starting from: 38000 € gross

The final offer will be based on candidate location, skills and qualifications, experience, and aligned with internal pay structures.
