Job summary

Hitachi in Rome seeks an experienced service and commissioning professional to lead HV protection and SCADA/RTU system activities at client sites. You will manage schedules, coordinate with site managers and third parties, and deliver thorough as-built documentation.

The role requires hands-on testing, on-site troubleshooting, and extensive travel to client locations, with strong emphasis on safety and customer acceptance.

Qualifications

• Experience in P&C site commissioning of substations.
• Experience with test devices such as Omicron and Isa.
• Proven experience on Hitachi Microscada and RTU560.
• Knowledge of PLC automation commissioning.
• Knowledge of IEC104/101 and 61850 protocols.
• Knowledge of Networking and network devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and commissioning activities for HV protection and SCADA/RTU systems at client sites.
• Adhere to commissioning schedule and ensure handover with client sign-off.
• Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide feedback for lessons learned.
• Implement design changes and produce as-built mark-ups.
• Coordinate with site manager and third-party providers on projects.
• Produce progress reports and obtain client approval.
• Conduct Safety Observation Tours and mitigate hazards.
• Handle snag lists independently and resolve issues.
• Engage in technical discussions with customers during commissioning.
• Attend FAT and SAT as required.

Overview

In this role you will lead service and commissioning activities within the Grid Automation unit in Rome. You will work with the Service & Commissioning team to troubleshoot, ensure on-time completion, and secure customer acceptance. You will implement design changes, prepare as-built documents, and coordinate with site managers and third parties. You’ll report progress, support safety processes, and engage with customers during commissioning, FAT, and SAT to deliver reliable HV protection and SCADA/RTU solutions.
