Fluence Energy, LLC seeks a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead end-to-end commissioning of energy storage projects across EMEA and globally. You orchestrate testing, validation, and integration to meet standards, contracts, and grid rules, enabling safe, commercial operation.

You will collaborate with construction, engineering, and external partners to shape commissioning strategy and ensure quality, safety, and performance.

Competenze

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with battery storage systems, inverters and LV/MV switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and market regulatory standards.
• Fluency in English and German is required.

• Coordinate commissioning of Fluence projects with multi-stakeholder teams (construction managers, contractors, suppliers, telecoms, control systems).
• Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans including resources and schedules.
• Lead commissioning efforts to reach commercial operation and transition to O&M.
• Define and execute testing protocols aligned with market rules, local utility requirements, and off-taker contracts.
• Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of project networks, control systems, power and HVAC subsystems, safety systems, and battery/inverter subsystems.

As Senior Commissioning Engineer, you lead end-to-end commissioning of Fluence energy storage projects across EMEA and globally. You orchestrate testing, validation, and integration to meet standards, contracts, and grid rules, enabling safe, commercial operation. You’ll work with construction, engineering, and external partners to shape commissioning strategy and ensure quality, safety, and performance. This role offers hands-on impact across multi-site projects, from handover to O&M. You’ll operate at the intersection of technology, regulation, and market readiness to drive project success.

• Coordinate commissioning of Fluence projects with multi-stakeholder teams (construction managers, contractors, suppliers, telecoms, control systems).
• Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans including resources and schedules.
• Lead commissioning efforts to reach commercial operation and transition to O&M.
• Define and execute testing protocols aligned with market rules, local utility requirements, and off-taker contracts.
• Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of project networks, control systems, power and HVAC subsystems, safety systems, and battery/inverter subsystems.
• Execute electricity market and off-taker qualification tests as needed.
• Travel across EMEA and international sites.
• Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent training
• Min. 10 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of battery storage systems, inverter, switchgear for low/medium voltage
• Strong understanding of VDE, IEC, IEEE battery storage standards and regulations
• Willingness to continually develop professional skills
• Strong initiative, decision-making, and results orientation with high quality awareness
• Professional reporting and excellent verbal/written communication skills
